Threading the Hook: Red Hook Bath (2023)
The Red Hook Bath is a proposal to address the issues of water pollution and lack of access to the waterfront in the heavily industrial area of Red Hook, Brooklyn. Many believe that they are not able to fully enjoy the potential benefits of living near the water due to limited public space and inadequate recreational facilities. Residents have called for the development of green open spaces, boating facilities, such as marinas and launching ramps, to support recreational water activities.
Overall, Red Hook residents believe that increased access to the waterfront and investment in recreational and commercial facilities would greatly enhance the quality of life in the community.
